Limenaria
Limenaria is one of the most popular towns in southern Thasos: a long seaside promenade, plenty of tavernas, and a great balance between lively evenings and relaxed days. Ideal if you want everything walkable but prefer not to stay in the main port town (Limenas).

Who Limenaria is best for
- Families: beach close by, promenade, and services.
- Couples: evening walks and great tavernas.
- A southern base (quick access to southern beaches).
- Anyone who wants atmosphere without port-town pressure.
Beaches in & near Limenaria
Limenaria has an urban beach and several swim-friendly stretches along the coast. For a calmer vibe, a short walk beyond the central area or a quick drive to nearby coves/organized beaches often does the trick.
- Town beach: most convenient, busier at peak times.
- Stretches outside the center: often more relaxed.
- Great base for famous southern beaches: ideal for day trips.
Atmosphere: what to expect
Evenings are lively (promenade, restaurants, music) while the overall feel remains friendly for families and relaxed travelers. If you like to finish beach days with a walk and dinner by the sea, Limenaria fits perfectly.
Parking & getting around
In peak season, central parking can be tricky—especially after 7pm. Park a bit farther and walk 5–10 minutes. If you want maximum convenience, prioritize stays that include parking.
Things to do (beyond the beach)
Beyond swimming, Limenaria is great for laid-back evenings and as a starting point for day trips (beaches, viewpoints, inland villages).
Helpful tips
- For more quiet: choose stays slightly behind/above the promenade (still walkable).
- For the beach at peak times: early morning or after 5pm.
- As a southern base: plan 2–3 beach day trips nearby.
- Parking included is a big plus in July/August.
